The Salem Arts Association Gallery announces Thresholds as a special two-part exhibit benefiting Salem's Temple Shalom and the Salem Arts Association. Both exhibits will run from Friday, September 5 through Sunday, September 28 on Artist's Row at 24 New Derby Street. An Opening Reception will be held Saturday, September 13 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A second reception will be held Sunday, September 14 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Thresholds: The Mezuzah is a benefit for Temple Shalom of 284 Lafayette Street in Salem, and calls for artists to decorate small wooden containers, or mezuzot (which hold a parchment inscribed with biblical passages, affixed by many Jewish households to their door frames). Mezuzot will be displayed in various artistic categories, and for sale in the SAA Gallery throughout the exhibit.

In addition, Thresholds: Members Show is a curated members exhibit featuring artwork exploring the theme "thresholds." A variety of media will be displayed, including sculptural works, photography, mixed media, crafts and experimental works.
