Holiday Showcase & Masters' Circle Exhibits

For this last show of 2024, we invite all of our member artists to submit their best work in celebration of a creative year well done.  Salem Arts Association is excited to close our 2024 exhibition schedule with a showcase of our member artists. It's a great opportunity to consider the gift of art for your friends, family, or to treat yourself to something beautiful. Our current Salem Arts members are exhibiting their best work showing the community what we have to offer in all of our diverse styles and artistic disciplines.

On display through December 15, 2024

Opening Reception Friday November 15, 6-8 PM.

The 2024 exhibition season is generously sponsored by the Peabody Essex Museum and The Michael and Ronne Cosel Foundation.

Our Guest Juror: Peggy Schrage

Peggy Schrage was exposed to much art and culture at a young age and became smitten. Schrage is known for her vibrant and diverse paintings, sculptures, upcycled furniture, and ceramics. When she moved to Marblehead in her 30’s, she very much embraced the community’s vigorous support for the arts on the Northshore. As a philanthropist, she has provided support for many cultural organizations in the region.

Awards

We The People

by Daniel Breslin

This dramatic sculptural piece is evocative of our current political climate. Cleverly conceived, but yet open to interpretation. The artist is mindful and thoughtful in attracting our gaze.

Surfing Salem

by David Jaramillo

This joyful surfing dragon is a well-crafted and whimsical sculpture that historically protected homes from fire. The clever use of materials such as wood, shells, and feathers define this water creature. Appropriate for this year-end show given the dragon represents health, strength, and good luck.

The Works

by Nancy Barnes

This photo realistic, illustrative drawing is extremely well executed in pastel. A compelling composition of a well-stocked bar draws in the viewer. The rendition of the materials, especially the glass is exquisite.
