Artist Statement
Known as an intuitive visionary, my expressive work is inspired by nature, fantasy, whimsy-and interpreting/observing life around me.
With a textile design/weaving background, I enjoy working with paint, paper and fibers highlighting my passion for color, texture-and serendipity. Sometimes abstract, sometimes subjective and, sometimes literal. Currently, I'm delving into book arts, creating handmade journals, as well as exploring printmaking and collage techniques on canvas and paper.
I also enjoy sharing my expertise/life experience by encouraging artistic creativity for people of all ages and levels. I've inspired artists of all levels as an educator and mentor thru my Wovenpaint studio activities. I truly believe that creative expression is key to our well-being.
