Artist Bio or Résumé
Meg Majors Nichols has a BFA in Photography and Printmaking from School of Visual Arts in NYC. For many years, Meg traveled internationally as a photojournalist focusing on portraiture, storytelling and music photography. The typography bug and love of design pointed her in a new direction in 2018 when she started m.ink and she has been focusing on the art of lettering and sign painting ever since. Meg has studied with multiple prominent sign painters in the US, UK and Australia and is always working to hone her skills.
Artist Statement
I recently completed Mortuary School and am in the process of pulling back on client-centered projects to explore my own ideas. I was a full-time artist until last year, when I moved into the deathcare industry. I'm really interested in painting my perspective; celebrating the fullness of life, juxtaposition of styles, mixed media, alienation, fitting in, etc. I'm passionate about traditional mediums, like sign lettering, gilding, for example, and connecting with the human experience.
